As an Educational Psychologist, he has made significant contributions to his field. Dr. Yong served as a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling at Universiti Malaya, the prestigious top-ranked university in Malaysia. He also held the esteemed position of Director at the Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education, where he played a pioneering role.
Throughout his career, Dr. Yong has gained global recognition for his groundbreaking research and consultancy work on creativity and emotional intelligence.
